Shallots hero

French shallots look like small conical onions with papery reddish brown skins. They have a mild sweet and concentrated onion flavour and are widely used in French recipes all year round. Store in a cool dark place for up to 2 weeks.

Peel away the papery skin, cut in half and dice.
