Tradition is important to us at Finest*, which is why our pâtés are produced by a long-established company in Belgium, the home of pâté. Our Finest* Ardenne Pâté has a robust, meaty texture enhanced with Provençal herbs, while the Tesco Finest Brussels Pate 170G is creamier, and flavoured with natural vanilla and spices.
Our passion for tradition is also an influence on our Finest* Ham On The Bone, which is cooked using time-honoured methods to make it even more flavoursome and tender. Why not serve it on a platter with crusty bread, vintage mature cheddar, tomatoes on the vine and fruit chutney?
For a selection of cooked meats try our oval Finest* Continental Platters, which include beechwood smoked ham, culatello, Felino salami, Serrano ham, prosciutto di Parma and San Daniele prosciutto.
Our beechwood smoked ham comes from Trieste in north-east Italy, where they serve it with grated radish and bread. If you’d like to complement the aromatic flavour with a glass of wine, we’d suggest a crisp Pinot Grigio or a full-bodied red. Culatello, on the other hand, is delicious with a sparkling wine such as Prosecco – a perfect celebration treat.
We care about how our meats are produced, too. Finest* Felino salami is made according to the age-old method: selected pork cuts are minced, then flavoured with whole peppercorns and spices. Even more time consuming is the Serrano ham , which takes nine to 24 months to develop before it reaches your table. After all that preparation, we find it disappears from the plate in a matter of moments.
