This recipe is great if you're looking to use up seasonal apples. Make this delicious, moist flapjacks for an afternoon treat and wash it down with a hot cup of tea!
Preheat oven to gas 4, 180ºC, fan160°C. Line a 20 x 30cm (8 x 12in) cake tin with baking parchment.
Melt butter, caster sugar and golden syrup together in a pan, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in oats and apples.
Spread mixture in tin and bake for 25-30 minutes. Cut into 12-14 bars; allow to cool before turning out of the tin.
Cook's tip: If you find the flapjack too moist, try grating the apples and squeezing out any excess juice before adding it into the mix. You can also replace 2 apples with 1 apple and 50g (2oz) dried apple.
