Baked apples with cranberry sauce HERO

Heat the oven to Gas 4, 180°C, fan 160°C.

Top, tail and core the apples. Stuff the base of each with a piece of bread, to act as a cork and stop the cranberry sauce running away.

Fill each apple with cranberry sauce. Place in a lightly buttered ovenproof dish and cook for 25 minutes. Drizzle a little honey over each apple and cook for a further 5 minutes before serving.

Top tip
You can use any left-over cranberry sauce as it comes, or simply mix a pinch of your family's favourite spice into the sauce and sweeten to taste before stuffing the apples.
