Take the pan out of the machine, and pour in the water. Add the oil, treacle and malt extract.
Pour the flour onto the water. Put the salt in a corner of the pan, and the yeast in the centre, after making a slight indent in the flour.
Put the pan back into the machine, and set it for a crusty medium loaf. Add the sultanas 5 mins before the end of kneading. (Most bread machines beep to give indication that the time is ready for fruit to be added).
Malt extract can be purchased from health food shops.
