My son loved baking wwhen he was small but when my neice wanted to join in she objected to 'gingerbread men' so we started making people instead. The accessorizing made them more unique and the children loved making them and decorating them as much as ea
Put dry ingredients into a food processor and mix
Add the butter and sugar and mix
Beat the egg and golden syrup together and then add slowly while the mixer is pulsing until it forms a dough.
Leave it to rest for about 15 mins then roll out on a floured surface, not too thin.
Use a people shaped cutter and then let the kids decorate with a round bladed knife make marks for trousers, shirts etc. Use left over dough to make handbags and other accessories - whatever your imagination comes up with (I once made several small poodle dogs )
Cook at 180 degrees for 15 minutes
Let them cool slightly before getting creative with smarties, pre-made piped icing or anything else edible!!!!!
