Every cook has different approach to gulasz :) Try to experiment with yours- I am sure you will enjoy it!
Cut the meat into square pieces (about 1x1cm) and brown on a pan.
On a separate pan brown chopped onions and add water to cover meat.
Add all other ingredients apart of pepper, garlic and sauerkraut! These we add when the meat is tender and then cook only for a few minutes. To make gulasz thicker, we add some mixed flour with water (do it slowly so you do not get granules of flour!).
Decorate with some sour thick cream and serve with PLACKI ZIEMNIACZANE, kasza gryczana (buckwheat ) or any polish kluski.
Always add the paprika powder at the very end of cooking, as it gets bitter when burned...You can also add courgette, carrots and mushrooms to this gulasz.
