Place the chopped onion, garlic, cloves, bay leaves and milk in a pan and bring to a simmer. Remove from the heat, cover with a lid and leave to cool. Remove the cloves and bay leaves then blitz the milk mix to blend.
Add the breadcrumbs and butter and gently heat, stirring frequently.
