The festive season is the season for parties. There are drinks parties, office parties, dinner parties, ‘we all happened to be in the kitchen' parties and if you're the one holding the shindig you want to make your time in the kitchen fuss free. Whether you're cooking for a small intimate circle of friends or a larger gathering, canapés are an easy way to cater for all appetites.
A canapé is traditionally a slice of bread, fried or toasted then spread with a salty topping such as anchovies or olive tapenade. Thankfully, canapés have become more diverse and now anything you can eat with your fingers in no more than a couple of bites qualifies.
Spiced Nuts are a brilliantly easy canapé and served in paper cones they look fantastic but if you felt like sticking to the traditional definition then our Crostini with Goats Cheese, Figs, Serrano Ham and Rocket will wow your guests and are simple to prepare. Alternatively our Cranberry Camembert Puffs are a classic combination, with the sharp fruity taste of the cranberry cutting through the creaminess of the cheese.
For those who want something a bit lighter our Vegetable Plate with Three Delicious Dips is a healthy alternative that is still yummy. And, if you're looking for something gluten free over then our Gluten Free Blinis with Smoked Salmon will have everyone smiling.
If you don't have time to cook then the Tesco Finest canapé range, including Panko Prawns and Chicken Gyoza are incredibly simple to prepare - just pop them in the oven!
