Wimbledon has begun and already we're all looking forward to the second week of the championships when the competition really revs up. Will Nadal line up another win or will Andy Murray finally take home the gold plate and the glory?
If (like us) you haven't managed to nab tickets to the 125th year of the championships and aren't prepared to camp (without a shower) overnight to get into the grounds then why not celebrate at home?
Wimbledon is all about posh nosh so think smoked salmon, fizz and obviously strawberries and cream. Invite family and friends round for a tennis based party (you could even impose a ‘tennis whites only' dress code) and watch all the action while you dig into some delicious food.
Start off with Smoked Salmon and Whipped Cream Blinis to nibble on, accompanied by some champagne. Don't forget a Gluten-Free version in case you're catering for people with allergies.
Serve up an Asparagus and Orange Tart for a main course with a twist and finish up with Strawberry and Crème Fraiche Terrines for a different take on the classic strawberries and cream combination.
As the afternoon wears on and the players wear themselves out, have some Scones on standby for the inevitable 4pm lull and serve them up with tall glasses of Strawberry Fizz for a truly British afternoon.
It's the perfect Wimbledon party without the stress of camping out. What could be better (apart from a share of victor's spoils)?
