It's Farmhouse Breakfast Week 23-29 January, and a great time to think about new ideas for breakfast. Well, they do say it's the most important meal of the day, and we think it should be one of the most enjoyable too. If you're finding you're stuck in the same old toast and cereal rut, pep up your morning with interesting and different breakfast options that not only taste great, but will help give you the energy you need for the rest of the day.
Muesli used to mean a bowl full of unappetising sawdust, but thankfully there are now lots of lovely posh varieties to buy. Even better make your own, packing it with lots of lovely fruit and goodness - try our Creamy Apple Lemon and Honey Museli Topped With Raspberries and Almonds.
Oats are full of fibre and release energy slowly, to make sure you don't get the munchies before lunchtime. Try topping with dried fruit and nuts, like our Porridge with Apricot and Cranberry, or baking oats with some honey or syrup to make your own fantastic Granola.
Get some of your five a day in first thing with a freshly made smoothie using gorgeous soft berries for a Summer-Berry Smoothie or Banana and Pear.
Give muffins a healthy makeover by using wholemeal flour and added bran, Blueberry Bran Muffins are delicious and you can even pop them in your bag to take to work. What better way to start the day!
