Grow your own herbs in pots on the kitchen windowsill, such as basil, parsley and coriander, for the ultimate in fresh flavour. Make sure you have olive oil, a selection of vinegars, soy sauce and sesame oil in stock to provide dressings and seasoning.
For vegetarians and lovers of oriental food, try a Quick Dofu Salad, made with silken tofu that lasts in your fridge.
