With a glut of bank holidays (thanks Wills and Kate for the extra one to celebrate the Royal Wedding) the next couple of weeks are delightfully short and it's the perfect opportunity to celebrate the great British weekend.
The Royal Wedding is the perfect excuse to get cooking. Get involved in a local street party and whip up some Cucumber Sandwiches that everyone will enjoy. Follow on with our Royal Wedding Cupcakes with their red, white and blue decoration for a snack fit for a prince or princess.
If you're planning a more traditional celebration for the day get into the festive spirit with Leek and Cheese Tart followed by Eton Mess and wash it all down with delicious Strawberry Fizz.
With an early May bank holiday to look forward to as well (fingers crossed that the beautiful weather holds) a cocktail party is a great way to celebrate the long weekend. Serve your guests Lynchburg Lemonade, Gin Fizz and Mojito's to get them into the party spirit and don't forget some delicious little canapés for them to nibble on. Mini Burgers are something that everyone will love; pop some pots of ketchup out so people can dunk them if they want to. Sweet Potato Chips will go nicely with the burgers and are also a yummy snack by themselves.
Serve up Little Gem Lettuce with Avocado Salsa and some Chilled Watercress Soup to complete your savoury line up. Finish off with Strawberry Tarts for a very British pudding and very happy guests.
What have you got planned for the long weekend?.
Enjoy the bank holidays!
