Round crisp batter, baked in a roasting tin, Yorkshire puddings are traditionally served with roast beef, but can also be filled with sweet or savoury fillings. Frozen Yorkshire puddings are useful to keep in the freezer.
How to make Yorkshire pudding
To make 10-12 individual puddings you need:
125g plain flour
1 tbsp vegetable oil or beef dripping
Heat the oven to 2200c/2000c fan, Gas 7
Place the flour in a mixing bowl and add the eggs. Beat until smooth then gradually pour on the milk beating all the time until the mixture is smooth. Add a good pinch of salt and black pepper.
Drizzle a little oil or dripping into each or 10-12 muffin or Yorkshire pudding tins. Heat tin in the oven for 5 minutes. Pour in the batter and bake for 25-30 minutes until crisp and golden.
