The almonds on top make this mince pie really special. We only have them on Christmas.
Roll out patry ans cut into 12 rounds. Line the bun tins with the pastry rounds. Place a teaspoon of mincemeat in each round.
Roll out the rest of the pastry and cut into strips. Arrange the strips in criss-cross on each mince pie.
Brush the op of the pies with beaten egg. Sprinkle with flake almonds. Bake at 200C/400F/ Gas 6 for 20-25 minutes.
Leave to cool.
