This is my family favourite apple pie recipe. We love it with lot of custard.
Place apple and granuated sugar in a pan. Stew the apple for 5 minutes till soft. Leave to cool.
Roll out the pastry to line a 20cm. pie plate.
Spread the steww apple on the pastry.
Rub the butter into the flour to resemble fine bread crumbs. Stir in the caster sugar. Spread the crumble on top of the apple pie.
Bake the apple pie in the centre of the oven. Gas 6/200C/300F for 25 minutes till the crumble is golden brown. Leave to cool.
