This a fab recipe if you have a small family! Rather than making big pies my son loves these and it is also a great recipe for kids to help with! My son normally helps out! I also use mixed berrys sometimes ... equally as nice.

Chop the apples removing the core and cook gently in sauce pan ..with cinnamon and vanilla drain of any excess leave to cool in saucepan whilst making pastry

Sieve 200g flour into a bowl add 4ozbutter cubes, and caster sugar rub together and and 2 or tablespoons of water to form dough... wrap in cling fim and put in fridge for 15 mins to rest

Set oven to approx gas mak 3/4 and Grease 6 loose bottom tartlet tins..I use oil for this.

Roll and cut pastry to fit the bottom and sides of the tins

Add apple mixture to pastry case in tins

With left over pastry cut into strips to make a lattice effect over tarts

Brush lattice strips with milk sprinkle with sugar if you wish and cinnamon and bake in oven

eat hot or cold I serve mine with homemade custard hot or vanilla iceream

Dont over cook your apple as you dont want all mush i often add half the apple half way through cooking its all down to Personal preference
