Roll out the pastry and line a greased baking tin. Evenly spread the grated cheese over the pastry and then scatter the asparagus spears on top.
Whisk the remaining ingredients and pour over the filling. Place in the oven and bake on gas mark 4 for 45 minutes.
Tips: There is no need to bake the pastry blind as the filling and the pastry all cook together!
You can change the fillings to whatever you have in the fridge as long as you keep the egg custard recipe the same!
