Boil Black eyed beans for about an hour along with the bay leaves and bicarbonate of soda,
(boil with lots of water) so that it doesnt get to dry out keep topping when water level goes down, after finished the water should be black
Place the rice in a rice cooker or large pan pour over the beans and the water its been cooking in, add more water until all rice is covered with salt and cook until rice is cooked.
serve with stew, boiled egg :)....enjoy!
