I like making jam and give them to friends as gift. Home made jam taste really nice and fruity.
Wash and remove stalks of the blackcurrants. Put into a large jam pan. Add in water, bring to the boil and simmer gantly for 45 minutes till the fruit is soft.
Stir in the sugar. Bring to the rapid boil for 30 minutes till setting point. Romover from heat. Pot the jam while it is warm.
To test seting point, place a teaspoon of jam on a cold saucer and leave to cool rapidly so that the skin is form. Push on the skin to see if wrinkles are formed.
