Bring a small pan of water to the boil and hard boil the egg for 10 minutes. Place the pan under cold running water until the egg is cool enough to handle, then remove the shell and slice in half.
Slice the cheese and chop the apple. If not serving immediately, place the apple in water with a squeeze of lemon juice to stop it going brown. Toast the bread, if desired, and butter it.
Serve all together on a plate, and have a buffet breakfast which will also count towards one of your five a day!
