Cantonese Beef recipe

I got the recipe from my mother in law but apparently it originated from an old St Michael (Marks & Spencer‘s) recipe donkeys years ago. I don‘t know how to upload my photo of this dish, sorry!

Slice all veg into thin strips (onions, peppers, carrots, baby corn, mange tout)

Slice beef into thin strips

Fry Veg in a little oil until cooked through and put to 1 side

Fry beef in a little oil until cooked through then drain off juices and put beef to one side

Add the lazy garlic to the beef juices and cook until it has softened

Add the tomato sauce and Worcester sauce until you like the taste combination (it‘s never the same twice!) and add some boiling water so it's not too thick a consistency

Add the beef and veg back to the pan and stir fry with the sauce

Serve with rice or noodles and freeze any leftovers

  • Half bottle Heinz squeezy tomato ketchup
  • Few good glugs Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Carrots
  • Splash Oil for cooking
  • 2 teaspoons Lazy garlic
  • Splash boiling water
