To make the caramel sauce, combine the cream, sugar and butter in a saucepan over a medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 – 3 minutes or until the mixture is smooth and the sugar has dissolved.
Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly. Serve immediately or put into a covered container in the fridge and gently reheat the caramel sauce just before serving.
