Mix all the marinade ingredients in a food processor.
Place chicken pieces into a large bag or plastic container and cover with marinade. Seal bag or cover the container and shake to coat the meat in marinade mixture. Leave in fridge for 4 hours or overnight and turn occasionally.
Remove chicken from marinade and thread onto skewers alternating with pieces of fruit and onions.
Grill or BBQ until thoroughly cooked through with no pink showing and the juices run clear.
Serve hot with rice or couscous.
