Always good to have something warm & home made, when you are strapped for cash & the family need filling up with something inexpensive.
Combine butter, flour,then add the dry ingredients. Mix to a stiff dough with beaten egg & milk. Form into up to 10 small dollops & place on a baking sheet & cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Gas mark 6. or 425 f. Until golden brown.
Lovely just warm from oven - sliced in half & spread with butter.
