Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
Beat egg in cereal bowl.
Add anchovies, cheese and parsley then mash until you achieve a smooth paste.
Spread the paste evenly over the pastry.
Season with black pepper, to taste.
Cut pastry vertically into 12 equal strips.
Place each strip on a baking tray lined with tin foil, leaving at least 3cm gap between each strip.
Bake in oven for 25 mins until golden brown.
No salt is required as the anchovies on their own pack a powerful punch in terms of flavour.
The straws can be enjoyed on their own or accompanied by a mayonnaise-based dip.
