Cut the loaf into slices then again at 90‘ to make cubes - be careful to not cut all the way through the base
Use a pastry brush to brush most of the butter onto the bread
Push the cheese into the bread, and sprinkle the herbs over.
Brush the remaining butter over the top of the bread
Wrap loosely in foil and bake at 180‘ for 30 mins
cheddar is good for this recipe but mixing in other cheeses works well too - adding a little red leicester or dolcelatte adds a stronger cheese taste.
