Start by frying the onion, mushrooms, crushed garlic and chilli in sunflower oil for a couple of minutes, once the onion has started to brown add the minced beef. Cook the beef until fully browned and then add the Worcestershire sauce, stock cube and salt and pepper. Thoroughly stir and allow to cook for five minutes.
Next add the chopped tomatoes, tomato puree and cook for a futher 2 minutes, then add the red wine and sugar and allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
Add the drained kidney beans and simmer on low for 15 mins, meanwhile, cook the long grain rice according to packet instructions and serve.
Tip: If the mix gets dry before it is tender add more red wine or some water.
