Chinese five-spice beef burger recipe

Give the traditional burger an entire makeover using exotic Chinese ingredients like aromatic five-spice, mild spring onions and crisp pak choi.

Grate the ginger into a bowl, and stir in the chilli sauce and the five-spice powder. Add the spring onions and the coriander along with the beef mince. Season, combine well, and shape the mixture into two burgers.

Cook the burgers under a preheated grill or on a preheated barbecue for 3-4 minutes each side, until the meat is cooked through and no pink juices remain. 

Steam the pak choi for a minute or so until just cooked. Drain and toss the leaves in the soy sauce.

Servce the burgers in the sesame buns with the pak choi, and an extra squeeze of srircha if you like your burger hot.
