Whip the whipping cream until it forms peaks.
Pit the cherries by cutting them in half and remove the stones.
Now to layer up the ingredients to make the dessert. First crumble 2 chocolate muffins into the bottom of the trifle dish (of sundae glasses for individual desserts).
Next layer on half a carton of the custard and spread over the muffins.
Now scatter half of the cherries over the custard.
Spread over half of the cream.
Repeat steps 3-6.
Add over grated chocolate to finish (optional) and then let it sit in the fridge to set for 1 hour.
