If you're hosting a kids' Halloween party, give these ghoulish pear ghosts a try. Juicy pears are covered in creamy white chocolate and decorated with chocolate chips – simple, spooky and ready in a flash! See method

  • 100g white chocolate chips
  • 2 small ripe Conference pears, cut in half and cores scooped out
  • dark chocolate chips, to decorate

  1. Melt the white chocolate chips according to pack instructions.
  2. Meanwhile, push wooden lolly sticks into the bases of the pear halves.
  3. Use a teaspoon to spoon melted chocolate over each pear half to cover the skin. Tap the lolly stick gently against the bowl edge to smooth the chocolate and remove the excess. Carefully transfer to a board lined with baking paper.
  4. Use dark chocolate chips to make eyes and a mouth, then chill until firm.

Tip: These Halloween treats can be made up to a day ahead.
