My family have always enjoyed tin Chicken in White sauce. I‘ve served it for years with rice. Just adding a finally chopped onion in the past. This time I wanted to create a dish that was simple & quick to cook using Tesco‘s Finest Fusilli Lunghi
I love the spiral shaped pasta so decided to serve it with an old family favourite (The Chicken in white sauce) However I wanted to change the taste slightly so I added the tin sweetcorn which created a sweeter taste. The pasta meal was a huge success. Tesco Finest fusilli lunghi really does taste like a true authentic Italian pasta you order in an Italian restaurant. My added ingredients made the meal a winner for myself & my family, it really was a delicious.
Put pasta in a pan to cook
Whilst this is cooking, open tin Chicken in sauce & small tin of Sweetcorn
Chop up very finely 1 onion then cut Cherry Tomatoes in half or cut thin slices of 1
Red pepper. Lightly fry the onion in 1 tablespoon of oil until soft. Once cooked, drain & add the Chicken in sauce & sweetcorn. Keep these on a low heat until the pasta is cooked which is only about 8 minutes. Drain the pasta. Melt a little butter, in the pan, put the pasta back in the pan with the melted butter & lightly stir to ensure pasta soaks up the butter. Now dish up the pasta & add the Chicken ingredients on top. This is a very tasty dish but lacks Colour. Hence adding either Cherry Tomatoes or Red Pepper to give the meal some Colour plus a little crunchiness
Warm your plates or dishes before you serve. Pasta soon becomes cold once it is dished up.
I only had a White onion but a Red onion would help give the dish a more colourful appearance
This meal is very tasty, it‘s also very filling.
It‘s a dish perfect for busy mums. It took just 10 mins from putting the pasta in the pan to serving up the completed meal. Naturally I know that my recipe is a lazy one using tinned products. People who enjoy cooking could alter the recipe to suit their own personal taste
