Creamy Pepper Steak Ciabatta recipe

Slice the peppers and onion into thin strips. Roughly dice the garlic

Heat a splash of oil in a frying pan and add the garlic and onion to brown slightly

Add the peppers and cook until they start to brown and go soft. Then add the mushrooms and cook until they start to break down (usually only 2/3 minutes)

Remove from the pan and give the pan a quick wipe clean. Add a little oil and allow to reheat. Add the steaks when hot and cook to order

While the steak is cooking (or before, if cooking it rare) prepare the creamy pepper sauce mix, place in a pot and put it on to heat

Once the sauce has thickened, add in the pepper/onion/mushroom mix and stir

Remove the steaks and slice into strips, allowing time for the meat to rest

Slice the ciabatta and assemble, adding the steak first and topping with the sauce and veg mix. Be careful not to add to much sauce or the bread will become soggy.

Add some water to the pan when cooking the peppers to avoid them burning before softening
