In a small frying pan, gently fry the onion until soft. Add the spices and fry for a further 2 minutes over a medium heat.

In a small bowl, combine the sour cream and mayonnaise. Now tip in the onion and spices and stir well. You can make this in advance and finish by adding some freshly chopped coriander on the top just before serving.
