Chocolate crunchies recipe

Grease an 18cm (7 inch) square tin. Put the biscuits into a processor and blend to crush.
Put the butter into a bowl with the golden syrup and microwave on High for 1 minute. Alternatively, melt gently in a pan.
Add the cocoa, dried fruit and cherries to the melted mixture.
Stir in the crushed biscuits and mix everything together until thoroughly combined.
Spoon evenly into the prepared tin and press down well. Chill for 30 mins.
Melt the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl, resting over a pan of simmering water. Drizzle melted white chocolate over the biscuit mixture. Decorate with glace cherries, if you like. Chill for 30 more minutes before cutting into squares.

Everyone will go crazy for these child-like treats!

Keep the crunchies in the fridge for at least an hour before eating, but remove around 30 minutes before eating to soften slightly!

  • 100g (3 1/2oz) - butter
  • 3 tbsp - golden syrup
  • 2 tbsp - cocoa powder
  • 50g (2oz) - mixed dried fruit
  • 50g (2oz) - glace cherries, halved.
  • 150g (5oz) - white chocolate, broken into squares.
  • 6 - glace cherries, halved to decorate.
