Meatball stew recipe

In a large heavy frying pan, heat the oil and sauté the onions gently until just soft. Remove the onions from the pan to a side bowl using a slotted spoon.


Add the meatballs to the pan and brown lightly on all sides. Add the carrots and onions and cook for 5 minutes more.


Stir in the turnips, potatoes and stock. Season. Simmer for about 25 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender, adding a little more water if the stew gets too dry.


Serve with vegetables, and Worcestershire sauce if desired.
