Finely chop garlic and onion and fry in half olive oil until soft.
Slice mushrooms and fry until soft.
Add tinned tomatoes, rest of oil, herbs, tomato paste and seasoning to taste.
Allow sauce to reduce on a low heat whilst pasta cooks according to directions on the bag.
When pasta is ready, add to sauce and serve.
This sauce can be batch cooked as it freezes and reheats very well.
