I like to make this as a gift for people as it is homemade and delicious and not very hard to cook.
Prepare the caramel first in a pan with the 3 tablespoons of sugar and the water. Obtain a dark color of the caramel without burning sugar as this would make the caramel bitter instead of sweetening.
Pour the caramel in a flan mold and cover the sides of the mold.
Whilst the caramel is cooling down beat the eggs the sugar and the milk in a bowl.
Pour the mixture into the mold and put in the oven in a water bath (bain marie) at 200º for an hour.
After an hour insert a toothpick into the creme if the toothpick comes out clean then the creme is done if not leave in the oven for another 10 minutes.
Once it's done take it out of the oven and out of the water bath. Leave to cool to room temperature and put into the fridge.
Creme caramel is best made the day before it's eaten.
