I had some milk that was on use by date so thought I will experiment and these seemed rather yummy an idea to share with others pre Christmas nice for breakfast mid morning or afternoon tea

oven on number 5 clean surfaces and get out all ingredients line tin with silicon sheet

sieve flour cinnamon and nutmeg ( keep a little for dusting pre cook) add salt and baking powder sieve again rub in butter so it is like breadcrumbs stir in mincemeat, chopped dates ( or use cranberries/apricots) and zest stir to spread it all out slowly add milk and stir

when it is a good pliable dough texture put on floured boar and pat down to your desired thickness cut with fluted cutter size of your choice put on silicon dust with spiced flour kept back bake til golden brown remove from oven on wire tray sprinkle with caster sugar and eat with butter or cool

silicon sheets make it easy to lift off once cooked (experiment with your own too like ginger)
