A firm family favourite, it was a family favourite when I was growing up, too!
Chop the bacon, and fry off. Add all the ingredients to a medium sized slow cooker and cook on medium for at least 3 hours, covered. Twenty minutes before serving, stir in 2tbsp of cornflour dissolved in a little cold water. Serve with mashed potato and green beans or peas.
As a yummy alternative, add dumplings 40 minutes before serving, and omit the cornflour.
