Ideal for a quick mid-week dinner, this dish is a great way to make the most of your Sunday roast. It's packed with flavour and the kids will love it! This recipe is a time-saving leftovers idea from our maple and sesame roast chicken dish. If you'd like to make it from scratch, you'll need 4 leftover chicken wings or drumsticks. See method

Ingredients

  • 4 leftover chicken wings or drumsticks

For the marinade

  • 3 tbsp clear honey
  • 2 tbsp muscovado sugar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 1 1/2 tbsp tamarind paste

Method

  1. Mix the marinade ingredients together in a dish. Add the wings or drumsticks and toss well to coat thoroughly. Set aside for 10 minutes (or longer if you have time), turning now and then in the marinade. Preheat the grill (or barbecue) to medium-high.
  2. Put the chicken pieces into a roasting tray and place the tray under the grill (or on the barbecue) for 15 minutes. Turn the chicken over halfway through cooking and baste occasionally in any leftover marinade. The chicken should be piping hot, sticky and glazed.
