French toast with banana and maple syrup recipe

Quick and easy, French toast can also be eaten with savoury sauces such as ketchup to replace the banana and syrup.

Beat the egg with a fork on a large plate and dip in the slices of bread to coat thoroughly.

Heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan over medium-to-low heat. Fry the bread for 5 minutes, turning once until golden brown. Transfer to plates and top with the sliced banana. Drizzle with the maple syrup and serve at once. You can garnish with strawberries, if desired.
