Garlic and herb creamy linguine recipe

I used to buy shop bought carbonara sauces but found they often tasted creamy and bland! There are lots of wonderful complex carbonara recipes to try when you have more time at the weekend but this is my favourite mid week cheat recipe! When combined with Tesco finest* linguine you get a real fresh pasta dish taste in under 30 minutes!!

Add the required amount of linguine to boiling water

In a separate pan add a little olive oil and heat before adding the chicken. Heat until cooked through.

Once the chicken is cooked through add the bacon. Cook for 1-2 minutes before adding the mushrooms.

Once the mushrooms are cooked through add 3/4 of a tub of garlic and herb cream cheese. Stir the cream cheese into the chicken,bacon and mushroom mix until combined.

Add a little of the cream at a time until you have the sauce consistency you are happy with. Sprinkle in the hard cheese and basil at the last minute of cooking time.

Once the pasta is cooked through drain and add to the sauce. Stir until combined and serve!

Serve with homemade herby flat bread or Tesco ready made garlic bread!
