My husband was recently placed on a low cholesterol diet so I had to adapt his favourite scones recipe which had been handed down from my mom
Preheat oven to 220C
Sift flour salt and baking powder into a bowl rub in spread until mixture resembles breadcrumbs stir in sugar and fruit
Make a well in centre of mixture and pour in milk .gradually stir in making a soft dough
Turn mixture onto a floured surface and flatten gently until it is about 1/2 inch thick.
Using a pastry cutter cut out scones and place on baking tray
Laze with a little milk and bake for 10 to 12 mins until golden
Cool on a wire tray serve with home made jam
