Homemade Sausage and Cheese plait recipe

This sausage plait is lovely for a street party. Cut it up into slices. Both children and adults ove it.

Roll out pastry in a rectangle shape. Mix the sausage meat with the chopped onion. Place the sausage meat in the centre of the rectangle. Sprinkle with grated cheese.

Wet the edge of the pastry. Fold the pastry over top and bottom and then the tow sides to form a plait. Seal all the edges

Brush with beaten egg. Place the plait on a baking try and bake in the centre of the oven for for 40 minutes at Gas mark6/ 200C/ 400F. Leave to cool.

Other vegetables like grated carrots or peas can also be used.
