Chop up the hot cross buns into pieces about 2cm square

Beat the eggs & milk together

Chop the chocolate - you can use as much as you like!

Mix the chopped buns and chocolate together, & put into a small loaf tin, greased if not non-stick. Sprinkle the mixed spice over if you like it. Pour the egg mix over it, and leave it to soak for half an hour or more.

When you're ready to cook the desert, heat the oven to 180 degrees and put it in. After 40 - 45 minutes it should be nicely brown on top, but still feel a bit spongy. Take it out and serve warm or cold.

It is nice warm, with some cream or ice cream. You can grate nutmeg over before you serve it.
