To make the meatballs put the ground fennel seeds with the oregano, salt and pepper with the mince and mix. Roll into small golf ball size balls. Bake in the oven on a tray for 10 minutes at 180 degrees to brown.
To make the sauce roast the garlic for 10 minutes and add to the tomatoes. Add the sugar, salt and pepper, dried basil and simmer for 10 minutes on a low heat. Then blend the sauce.
Add the meatballs to the sauce.
Cook the pasta.
Serve the meatballs over the pasta with chopped fresh basil to serve.
