Quickly fry the sausages in the garlic oil until brown all over.
Add the chopped onions and cook for another 10 minutes until soft.
Add red wine and bring to the boil. Allow to boil and bubble for a few minutes until slightly reduced.
Add tin of tomatoes, stock and herbs; bring to the boil. Cook with lid on for 20 minutes.
Drain the beans and add to pot. Cook with the lid off for further 15 minutes. n drain beans and add to pot
Serve with crusty bread on the side.
You can use fresh sage. If so, use 1 tbsp, finely chopped.
