Jersey Royal super sausage and mash recipe

Quite simply, wash and boil the potatoes (skins on) and then mash (with a dash of milk and butter) until creamy.
Grill the sausages (dead healthy me!), chop and fry the onion (not quite so healthy, but hey, we're cheering ourselves up here!) and add to the thick gravy (I cheat and use granules, because that's what real men do!).
Serve by making a small mountain of mash in the middle of your plate. Cut the sausages in half and stick them into the sides of the potato mountain (one of each flavour per plate). This will make your bangers and mash look like it used to in the Beano. Pour your lovely thick onion gravy over the top of your bangers and mash mountain.
Guaranteed to cheer me up after a bad day at the cricket!
