Slice potatoes, carrots, onions, mushrooms, beef or chicken.
Layer the ingredients in a deep frying pan, starting with the potatoes, onions, carrots , mushrooms and the chicken or beef. Keep layering them and then pour in chicken or beef stock and cover with tin foil.
Cook until vegetables are soft and season with salt and pepper.
Serve with crusty bread and if you like you can grate cheese over top and put under grill for a few minutes.
